In the presence of the Commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade and the Commander of Salalah Air Base: Students from the College of Commerce and the College of Engineering Excel at the Salalah Air Base Innovation Event
On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, the Entrepreneurship Center participated with seven innovative projects, in cooperation with the College of Commerce and Business Administration and the College of Engineering, in the cultural evening event organized by Salalah Air Base at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Center for Culture and Entertainment.
Brigadier General Abdul Kadhim bin Ibrahim Al Ajmi (11th Infantry Brigade of the Royal Army of Oman) and Brigadier General Pilot Malik bin Yahya Al Numani (Commander of Salalah Air Base) listened to an overview provided by Dr. Lujain El-Maghraby (Director of the Entrepreneurship Center and Chair of CCBA’s Industrial Engagement Committee) on the participating projects and their positive impact on the Omani society if they are going to be adopted and marketed. Their Excellencies also listened to the participating students from the Colleges of Commerce and Engineering, and how they made their innovations from local Omani materials such as: sustainable plastic, wood made from Omani plants, artificial roses from bacterial waste, the robotic hand, and suggested solutions for an environmentally friendly lifestyle. A total number of 17 students from both colleges participated in the event.
At the end of the ceremony, Brigadier General Abdul Kadhim bin Ibrahim Al-Ajmi honored the participants and handed them a shield of honor for their efforts in participating in this cultural evening.
The Center extends its sincere gratitude to all those who contributed towards enriching the Entrepreneurship Center’s participation, especially Dr. Issam Bahdour (Dean of the College of Engineering), Dr. Omar Durrah (Head of the Department of Management, College of Commerce), Dr. Maryam Anil (Assistant Professor in the Department of Management), Ms. Laila Bait Saeed (Dean’s Office Coordinator), department heads in the College of Engineering, coordinators in both colleges, and the Society of College of Engineering Students.
